Laser Tattoo Removal

Permanent tattoo removal is achieved using the Spectraâ„¢ Laser which directs concentrated laser energy to carefully break down the inks of a tattoo into tiny fragments without damaging the surrounding skin, allowing the body to naturally break down the tiny ink particles. Usually repeated treatments is needed. The process is safe, permanent and usually yields results with less chance of scarring. The sessions are done monthly. The number of sessions required depends on the colour of tattoo, age of tattoo and skill of tattoo artiste. Certain tattoo pigments, such as yellow, green and other coloured inks are more challenging to treat than the darker black and blue because they have absorption spectrums that fall outside or on the edge of the emission spectrum available in the respective tattoo removal laser. Energy level can be increased to help with the challenging ones. Older tattoos are more difficult to remove and amateur tattoo artistes tend to deposit very deep pigments leading to a more challenging removal.

It is unavoidable that this procedure will hurt slightly and you will experience some discomfort. A strong numbing cream will be applied and pain medication can be given pre-procedure to reduce this discomfort. Post-laser, antibiotic cream will be prescribed to ensure optimal wound healing.
